Social media is a good tool, but should be used in conjunction with traditional methods of marketing too.
Agreed.But social media is an inexpensive way for startups to get the word around.Any would be entrepreneur can get a facebook page,twitter account and start a blog!
For better or for worse, social media has become the game changer in so many situations. In our corner of the world, the outcomes of civic referendums and elections have been significantly affected by the astute use of Facebook and Twitter.
The internet penetration in India is still quite low but its playing an outsize role in social change.So I guess its safe to say social media is having a similar effect all over the world.
