There’s nothing great about divorce.But some women have managed to come out of marriages with more than a lot of women manage to make and save in their lifetime.Here are some examples:

Suzzane Khan,if reports are to be believed,was asking an alimony of 100 crores. But then she was given two flats, cars and fixed deposits.

Justine Musk On The Life Of A Starter Wife

wealthymatters In the late spring of 2008, my wealthy entrepreneurial husband, Elon Musk, the father of my five young sons, filed for divorce. Six weeks later, he texted me to say he was engaged to a gorgeous British actress in her early 20s who had moved to Los Angeles to be with him. Her name is Talulah Riley, and she played one of the sisters in 2005’s Pride and Prejudice. Two of the things that struck me were: a) Pride and Prejudice is a really good movie, and b) My life with this man had devolved to a cliché.

At least she wasn’t blonde. I found that refreshing.

When I first met Elon, I wasn’t blonde, either. I was an aspiring writer in my first year at Queen’s University in Ontario, Canada, sprung from a small hometown and recovering from a difficult case of first love with the older man I’d left behind. I liked older. I liked poetic andrebellious and tortured. I liked a guy who parked his motorcycle beneath my dorm-room window and called my name through the twilight: Romeo in a dark-brown leather jacket. Read more of this post

Bank Balances And Orgasms

wealthymatters The important bulge in a man’s pants is apparently his wallet. Women report having better sex with wealthy men.

Researchers have found that women’s sexual pleasure is directly linked to their partner’s bank balance — in fact, the wealthier a man is, the more frequently his ladylove has orgasms.

The researchers came to the conclusion after analyzing data gathered in one of the world’s biggest lifestyle studies, the Chinese Health and Family Life Survey which targeted 5,000 people for in-depth interviews about their sex lives, income,etc.Among these were 1,534 women with male partners whose data was the basis for the study.

They found that 121 of these women always had orgasms during sex, while 408 more had them “often”. Another 762 women ‘sometimes’ orgasmed while 243 had them rarely or never.

There were of course, several factors involved in such differences but money was one of the main ones, according to the researchers.Increasing partner income had a highly positive effect on women’s self-reported frequency of orgasm. More desirable mates cause women to experience more orgasms.

A Train Journey And Two Names To Remember

Shankersinh Vaghela and Narendra Modi, who between them left a lasting impression on two strangers in 1990.

“It was the summer of 1990. As Indian Railway (Traffic) Service probationers, my friend and I travelled by train from Lucknow to Delhi. Two MPs were also travelling in the same bogie. That was fine, but the behaviour of some 12 people who were travelling with them without reservation was terrifying. They forced us to vacate our reserved berths and sit on the luggage, and passed obscene and abusive comments. We cowered in fright and squirmed with rage. It was a harrowing night in the company of an unruly battalion; we were on edge, on the thin line between honour and dishonour. All other passengers seemed to have vanished, along with the Travelling Ticket Examiner.

We reached Delhi the next morning without being physically harmed by the goons, though we were emotionally wrecked. My friend was so traumatised she decided to skip the next phase of training in Ahmedabad and stayed back in Delhi. I decided to carry on since another batchmate was joining me. (She is Utpalparna Hazarika, now Executive Director, Railway Board.) We boarded an overnight train to Gujarat’s capital, this time without reservations as there wasn’t enough time to arrange for them. We had been wait-listed. Read more of this post
