This is something I use while finalizing the names of business entities and picking dates to originate new businesses.It can also be used to gain an insight into people from their names and date of birth.

In this system the single numbers 1 through 9 are called the root numbers and the belief is that they belong to the physical or material side of the person/entity. They denote what the person/entity appears to be in the eyes of the world.The double or compound numbers belong more to the spiritual side of life, they indicate the hidden karmic influences behind the scenes, and foreshadow the destiny of the individual.

The name numbers (compound and single) are the basic definition of that person/entity. The birth numbers are like the “details” of that person/entity.

The compound birth number is the day,say 24th,that an entity was born or originated.The single birth number comes from adding 2 and 4 to equal six.For people like me born on single digit dates,the compound number can be generated from the summation of the digits of the fill DOB like so:07/09/1978=7+9+25=7+9+7=23.

Name numbers are arrived at in the following way: KEERTHIKA SINGARAVEL = (2+5+5+2+4+5+1+2+1)+(3+1+5+3+1+2+1+6+5+3)=27+30=9+3=12=1+2=3,so single number 3 and compound number 12 by substituting alphabets by numbers as per the table below.

The numbers 11 and 22 are called Master Numbers. This means that when being added to another number, they may not be reduced – i.e. – the number 11 may not be added to make the number 2 and the number 22 may not be added to make the number 4. These 2 Master Numbers must always be added to other numbers in the numerology process as 11 and 22.Only when the total of the numerical value of the name is 11 or 22 may these numbers be added to produce the single 2 or 4.

Following are the meanings of various single and compound numbers:

NUMBER 1 

The number 1 vibrates to the Sun. It represents creativity, protection, and benevolence. NUMBER 11

This is a number of hidden trials and treachery from others. It represents two members of the same or opposite sex – or two opposing situations. In either case, compatibility of interest is lacking, and interference form a third force must be conquered. The difficulties may also arise from the illusion of separation. It is necessary to unite divided goals to avoid a sense of frustrated incompletion. One will periodically be sacrificed for the plans and intrigues of others. The number 12 warns of the necessity to be alert to every situation, to beware of false flattery from those who use it to gain their own ends. Be suspicious of those who offer a high position, and carefully analyze the motive. Although duplicity is not always present, forewarned is forearmed. 13 is not an unlucky number, as many people believe. The ancients claimed that “he who understands how to use the number 13 will be given power and dominion.” The symbol for 13 is a skeleton or death with a scythe, reaping down men in a field of new grown grass, where young faces and heads appear to be thrusting through the ground and emerging on all sides. 13 is a number of upheaval, so that new ground may be broken. It’s associated with power, which if used for selfish purpose, will bring destruction on itself. There is a warning of the unknown and unexpected. Adapting to change gracefully will bring out the strength of the 13 vibration, and decrease it potential for negativity. 13 is associated with genius – also with explorers, breaking the orthodox and new discoveries of all kinds.

NUMBER 14

Magnetic communication with the public through writing, publishing and all media related matters are associated with the number 14. Periodic changes in business and partnerships of all kinds are usually beneficial. Dealing with speculative matters brings luck. Movement and travel associated with combinations of people and nations can be fortunate. Gains and losses both are temporary due to the strong currents of change associated with 14. It also warns of danger from accidents related to the elements, this is just a warning, not an absolute. There is risk involved in depending on the word of those who misrepresent a situation; it’s a mistake to rely on others. Rely on your intuition, the voice within. The “luck” of 14 includes money dealings and speculative projects, but there is always a danger of loss due to bad advice from others and over confidence. However, there are no roses without thorns, and the ancients warn that 15 rules the lower levels of occultism when it is associated with the single numbers 4 and 8. Such people will use every art of magic – even black magic – to carry out their purpose. Or the 4 or 8 person will become the victim of others using the same methods. Other than this warning, the compound number 15 is extremely fortunate. NUMBER 16

16 is pictured by the ancient Chaldeans as a “tower struck by lightning, from which a man with a crown on his head is falling.” It warns of strange fatality, also a danger of accidents and the defeat of one’s plans. If the name equals 16, it would be wise to change the spelling of the name to avoid this vibration. If the birth date is the 16th of any month, the challenge of the 16 must be carefully met. To avoid the fatalistic tendency of the 16 as a birth number, one must be sure to make all plans in advance, paying careful attention to detail. The 16 brings with it the single number 7’s obligation and responsibility to listen to the voice within, which will always warn of danger through dreams or the intuition in time to avoid it.

NUMBER 17

This is a highly spiritual number, and was expressed in symbolism by the ancient Chaldeans as the 8-pointed star of Venus. The Star is the image of love and peace, and promises that the person or entity it represents will rise superior in spirit to the trials and difficulties of earlier life, with the ability to conquer former failures in personal relationships and the career. 17 is the number of immortality and indicates that the person’s name will live after him. This is an extremely fortunate compound number, with one warning: it reduces to the single number 8, so it’s important to read the special section about 4 and 8.

NUMBER 18

Of all numbers, 18 has the most difficult symbolism to translate. 18 symbolizes materialism striving to destroy the spiritual side of the nature. It often associates the person/entity represented by it with bitter quarrels within the family circle – with wars, social upheaval and revolution. In some cases it indicates making money or achieving position through divisive tactics, through war or other conflicts. It warns of treachery from friends, enemies and the elements. If the compound number of the name is 18 it should be negated immediately by changing the spelling of the name to a more fortunate number. If the birth number is 18, extreme caution and care must be taken to meet the challenges of the 18.

NUMBER 19

19 is one of the most fortunate and favourable of all compound numbers. It is symbolized as the sun, and is called the Prince of Heaven because it indicates victory over all temporal failure and disappointment. It blesses the person or entity represented by it with all the power of the compound number 10, without the inherent dangers of 10’s abuse. This number promises happiness and fulfillment as well as success in all ventures and the personal life. Though the other numbers associated with 19 may have a negative vibration, the power of 19 will smooth the path and greatly dilute any negativity.

NUMBER 20

In addition to being called the Awakening, this Compound number is also pictured by the ancient Chaldeans as “The Judgement”. It has a peculiar interpretation, and is symbolized as “a winged angel, sounding a trumpet, while from below, a man, woman and a child are seen arising from a tomb with their hands clasped in prayer.” At some time in the experience of the person or entity represented by the number 20, there is a powerful awakening, bringing new purpose, new plans, new ambitions – the call to action for some great cause or ideal. There may be obstacles or delays to one’s plans, but these are conquered, by developing patience and continually cultivating faith in one’s own powers to transform. This is the challenge/life lesson of the number 20. The number 20 also brings the blessing of vivid precognitive dreams, plus the ability to manifest the happy ones and cancel the negative ones. It is not a material number, therefore it’s doubtful regarding financial success. If large sums of money are needed for practical support of the new cause or ideal, then one may choose a more positive materialistic number by changing the spelling of the name, assuming that 20 is the birth number. However, those who are comfortable with their 20 vibration seldom care about matters of finance. Money is not important to them, and the basic necessities will be covered.

NUMBER 21

21 is pictured as “The Universe”, and is also called “The Crown of the Magi”. It promises general success, and guarantees advancement, honors, awards, and general elevation in life and career. It indicates victory after a long struggle, for the “Crown” is gained only after long initiation, much soul testing and various other tests of determination. However, the person or entity blessed with the number 21 may be certain of final victory over all odds and opposition. It is a most fortunate vibration – a number of karmic reward.

NUMBER 22

22 is symbolized by the ancients as “a good man, blinded by the folly of others, with a knapsack full of errors on his back.” In the image he seems to offer no defense against the ferocious tiger which is about to attack him. It’s a warning number of illusion and delusion. It indicates a good person who lives in a fool’s paradise; a dreamer who only awakens when surrounded by danger, and it is often too late. It warns of mistakes of judgement, of placing faith in those who are not trustworthy. If the person has 22 as a birth number, they should exercise caution and watchfulness in career and personal matters. The karmic obligation/lesson here is to be alert! Also, to develop more spiritual aggressiveness – to realize your own power to change things. When this personal responsibility is recognized, practiced and mastered, the 22 person can be in control of events.

NUMBER 23

This is a karmic reward number. 23 bestows not only a promise of success in personal and career endeavors, it guarantees help from superiors and protection from those in high places. It is a most fortunate number, and greatly blesses with abundant grace the person or entity represented by it. The ancients also say that when the compound  number of the name is higher than 52 and will not be added to get a compound key number (such as 53,54,60) it indicates that a person has paid most of their karmic debts. These people have less karma to balance out than the average person does. Naturally this will not hold true if you change the spelling of you name. It applies only to the name given to you by destiny (our parents higher selves guided them in this).

THE NUMBERS 4 AND 8

These numbers are known, especially when combined, as the numbers of Fate and the numbers of Karma. Hard luck seems to pursue those whose lives are dominated by the 4 and the 8. When the 4 or the 8 is the single key number of birth, the number has been chosen by that person, before birth, as a way to balance heavy karmic debts. On the level of awareness between incarnations the full importance of the karmic chain is comprehended. The obligation to balance these debts, which have been delayed or put off through many incarnations, is realized and acted upon. A good analogy would be the student who doesn’t study for the big exam until the night before and then has to “cram” to get the material learned/memorized.

The single number of the name being a 4 or an 8 is an entirely different matter, since (in most cases) you don’t choose your own name. Your parents chose it for you; therefore, to change your name to equal a more fortunate number is not unduly interfering with karma. It’s a free will of choice and a sensible way to make your path in this existence a little smoother and less fatalistic.

When 4 or 8 is the birth number care should be taken to avoid these numbers in all other ways, such as phone numbers or addresses which add up to a 4 or 8. Also, avoid taking important action or planning major events for any dates that equal 4 or 8.
