My meditation teacher had an interesting take on fear.For him it was a sensation,a creation of the mind.His advice was to acknowledge it but do nothing,neither seek to banish it or overcome it or give into it,Fear would teach us something about ourselves and by adopting this method we can work past fear but at the same time desist from taking unnecessary risks,
Fears in my opinion are useful to take note of as they act as a warning against unwise stupidity.
