In this very popular post:here,I dealt with Gulika,Rahu Kaalam and Yamagandam. These are times a person specifically avoids or selects after thought. as suitable for starting important activities.
In addition to these, in the Panchang, the hours of a day are divided into generally good (nalla nerams) and not so good ones . In Tamil Nadu the Gowri Panchangam is popular.Other communities in India have their own versions of the Panchang.
Amirdha, Dhanam, Uthi, Laabam and Sugam are believes to be OK to do work in. Rogam, Soram and Visham are generally avoided. You can check the Gowri Panchangam here:Link
Gulika,Rahu Kaalam and Yamagandam times override the more general classifications in the Panchangam.

Can any one explain what is “Uthi” ..
uthi means rise.
Madame,Though the term Rahu kalam, Kulig(as per Sanskrit Dictionery it is kulika-not gulika).
Your explanations are very good. Can you pickup old item in old panchangas about SAHADEVAR
