can you explain how this monthly return calculated? investing on what stocks?
These figures are calculated using SENSEX and NIFTY levels which you see on TV,newspapers etc.
To get similar returns you would have had to buy and sell a basket of stocks mimicking their respective weightages on the NIFTY or SENSEX at respective time periods.This would be a cumbersome method and nothing you could do on a limited budget.And the costs you incurred would eat into your potential gains.
For a retail investor,you could buy and sell ETFs with small lag errors and try for similar returns.
Sophisticated investors could do a leveraged play using derivatives and the info in the tables. That’s the reason for the question to Geetu.I wanted to know how Geetu used the info.
