India imports inflation. I guess the key would be to compare real interest rates. and also equity risk premium across India and others.
You are right in saying that India imports inflation.In an interconnected world land,labour and capital are bound to be valued identically over time.So rents,wages and interests are bound to trend towards the average.Exchange rates and inflation are ways by which the averaging out take place.
I posted the link to the list of interests worldwide as an aid to locating countries where money might earn more interest.But no action can be taken till we take into consideration exchange rate risk.Otherwise we are forsaking the very safety of capital while attempting to passively earn the highest interest on our money.
High positive real interest rates might indicate capital scarcity and hence opportunity.But there is always the problem with what metric was used to measure inflation.Link
As for equity risk premium,I didn’t find a readymade list online.Anyways won’t this premium reflect factors such as how easy foreigners find it to understand and do business in any country or for that matter how in sync outsiders and promoter groups are in any given country?
