Thinking about targeting the mass market brought to mind the idea of ‘The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid’ originated by C. K. Prahalad and Stuart L. Hart. According to Bill Gates, it “offers an intriguing blueprint for how to fight poverty with profitability.”

And remember there was a time when Made in the UK meant good quality made to last.I still remember my Helix geometry box from schools.Children today have to make do with shoddier compasses.
The problem of capitalism is to now make things that won’t last, which is unacceptable if targeted at low income populations.
Agreed.But a really wasteful way of keeping the economy going.As useful as digging ditches and covering them up for pay to kick start the economy,
